About

Personal Statement

I am a Lecturer in Anatomy working within the Human Anatomy Resource Centre (HARC). I joined HARC initially as a Demonstrator in 2012, before moving to my current position in 2018. Before this I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in anatomy at the University of Glasgow.

My background and interests are in gross and clinically applied anatomy, having completed a BSc in Anatomy (2011) and PhD in musculoskeletal biology (2021). As an education-focussed academic, I enjoy teaching anatomy in a wide variety of contexts and exploring good practice through scholarship and research. My interests are in educational practices generally, and specifically within the field of anatomy. Many of my projects have been recognised with awards and commendations. The best part of my job is working with people: collaborating with colleagues, supporting the training of current and future professionals, mentoring peers and communicating with the public.

Selected professional, scholarly and leadership roles include:

Councillor, The Anatomical Society of GB & Ireland.
Programme Director, PGCert Clinical Anatomy with Education.
Course Lead for Anatomy, MBChB Medicine and Surgery.
Module Coordinator and Teacher (various modules), BSc Anatomy & Human Biology.
Person Designate, Human Tissue Authority licence 12022.
