Garstang Research Centre

A new hub for heritage science research

Researchers can access and handle objects from the Garstang collections at the Garstang Research Centre

The Garstang Research Centre (GRC) is a dedicated heritage science facility within the Garstang Museum, designed to support innovative research on archaeological collections through both on-site and online access.

Combining a newly remodelled physical research space with the online Garstang Archaeology Portal (GAP), the Centre enables researchers to work directly with collections in Liverpool while engaging with related material held in institutions worldwide.

The GRC forms part of a wider initiative to identify, connect and make accessible archaeological material excavated by John Garstang.

Researchers interested in using the GRC are encouraged to get in touch to discuss access, availability and project requirements. Find out more about Research Access.
