Dr Katharine Stott is a Wellcome Trust clinical fellow currently based in Blantyre, Malawi. She is currently undertaking a PhD concerning the pharmacodynamics of cryptococcal meningitis, including abbreviated induction regimens.
Katharine studied medicine in Liverpool and undertook an MSc in humanitarian studies before beginning her clinical training in London in 2009. In 2011 she studied for a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene before working as a medical officer in Lesotho, Southern Africa. Following this she worked in clinical and academic roles in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and then in Salvador, Brazil. These roles lead to an interest in infection pharmacology and in 2013 she moved back to Liverpool and was appointed to the post of Academic Clinical Fellow in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
Katharine moved to Malawi in September 2017 to undertake the clinical component of her PhD studies and will return to clinical training in August 2020.
