About us
The UK's Experimental Arthritis Treatment Centre for Children (EATC4Children) is a unique consortium delivering translational biomedical research (from early lab-based studies to clinical trials) in childhood arthritis and related musculoskeletal and inflammatory disorders. Working in partnership with clinicians, academics, scientists, industrial and patient partners, we are working to create novel treatments for children.
Our work focuses on children and young people with a range of inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, lupus, of those that target organs of the body such as the eyes, skin, muscle, bone and kidney disorders.
The core team operates from Liverpool (University of Liverpool and Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust), Sheffield (University of Sheffield) and Bristol (University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust).
Our major focus is to deliver excellent care and ensure that the research we do is always directed towards answering the priority questions our children, young people, and their families have.
