Visiting scholars
We welcome visiting researchers to the lab to embark on collaborative projects. Whilst we, at present, do not offer funding to support a collaborative visit, visitors have the opportunity to work with the lab, learn methods, and access novel data.
Enquiries can be made directly to Professor Simon Keller.
Recent visitors include:
Dr Manish Goyal, Additional Professor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, India, was appointed as Visiting Researcher from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. This visit is supported by the ICMR-DHR International Fellowship Programme. Dr Goyal’s research in the Liverpool BRAIN lab will focus on EEG and MRI biomarkers of epileptogenesis in patients with newly diagnosed epilepsy. His previous work aligns closely with our ongoing research, particularly in the development of multimodal biomarker-based predictive models for epilepsy treatment outcomes.
Callum Simpson from the Department of Computer Sciences, University of Newcastle, spent three months with us in 2025 working on multiple epilepsy projects, including MR Elastography in refractory focal epilepsy, automated surgical lacuna delineation from MR scans, and automated detection of white matter hyperintensities in refractory temporal lobe epilepsy.
Sarah Lavelle was awarded an International League Against Epilepsy bursary to spend three months at the end of 2024 in our lab to estimate hypothalamic subunit volumes in patients with refractory temporal lobe epilepsy. Sarah visited between graduating from Trinity College Dublin and starting a new position at the Centre for Neuroengineering and Therapeutics at the University of Pennsylvania.
