On Thursday 3 June, over 200 staff from the Institute of Population Health gathered at the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre for the annual Institute Away Day. The event served as a valuable opportunity to reflect on achievements, share ideas, and build connections across research, teaching, and professional services.

The day began with a warm welcome and introduction from IPH Dean, Professor Sally Sheard. Her opening remarks outlined key updates across administrative and research initiatives. Professor Sheard took questions and share feedback from attendees, answering on topics such as research funding, student recruitment, collaborative working, and our ambitions for the coming academic year.

After our introduction, attendees were offered the chance to see a review of their 2024/25 achievements via a 'celebrating success' video. For those unable to attend the event, you can watch this video here.

Following this, attention turned to celebration with the IPH 2025 Staff Awards. A series of certificates were presented to staff members in recognition of their outstanding contributions over the past year. From ground-breaking research to innovative teaching and exceptional professional services, the awards highlighted the dedication and impact of individuals across the institute.

The morning session concluded with a special presentation by Professor Ben Michael, introducing attendees to the newly launched Liverpool Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Centre (LINC), an exciting addition to the institute’s expanding portfolio of interdisciplinary research and collaboration.

After a break for lunch, staff took part in a wide range of professional workshops designed to support development and networking. These sessions provided practical tools and offered space for creative thinking and inter-departmental collaboration.
