    Research Overview

I am actively engaged in research and scholarship both in educational as well as disciplinary research in Biochemistry and Biotechnology. I develop in-vitro biochemical and functional assays based on advanced genetically encoded fluorescent and bioluminescent reporters for imaging of dynamic cellular signaling processes in real-time at the level of single living cells. My research has contributed to the knowledge both within UK and globally by advancing the understanding of inflammatory mechanism through NF-kappaB signalling, cell death mechanism through p53, p63 and p73 family of proteins, pathophysiology of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis via superoxide dismutase misfolding, and its inhibition as a treatment strategy.
My pedagogical research has focused on and influenced the teaching delivery of employability topics for international students, student learning in biosciences teaching laboratories and reviewing and co-creating inclusive curriculum in partnership with students.
