Personal Statement

My main research field is protein Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy. I am particularly interested in protein dynamics, protein-ligand interactions and assembly of multi-protein complexes. I completed PhD in Shemyakin-Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry (Moscow), working on the NMR of transmembrane peptides. I did research in the Leicester University NMR Centre, initially on NADPH-oxidase system, and subsequently on integrin-based cell-matrix adhesion proteins. I joined Liverpool in 2006, where I continued studying adhesion complexes and, recently, developed interests in biotechnological enzymes and biopolymers. In addition to NMR, I use a wide range of biophysical methods in my research, including X-ray crystallography, Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) and light-scattering. I am a deputy director on the NMR Centre for Structural Biology and provide support on the biophysical methods in the Institute.
