The bustling city and world-famous skyline make Hong Kong one of the most unique and exciting destinations in Asia. Hong Kong is a hub for business moguls and young expats travelling from all corners of the world to experience the cosmopolitan lifestyle. Whilst Students will be able to experience Hong Kong culture in their everyday they will also have the luxury of being a stone’s throw distance from the boarder to Shenzhen, mainland China's closest city. Hong Kong frequently celebrates various holidays with parties in the streets and fireworks over the harbours. Outside of the hustle and bustle, students will often hike in the mountains (Dragons Back is a good place to start), visit soft white beaches (San Wan, Repulse Bay and Big Wave Bay are all very accessible) and sometimes hire out boats to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the sun. Other fantastic activities to complete would be visiting Big Buddha, exploring the street markets and taking a trip to Macau!
University Information
City U is located in the heart of Hong Kong. It is currently ranked 49th in the QS World University rankings and is globally recognised as a top centre of higher learning and research. City U has a student population of around 20,000 and is known as one of the best sporting universities in Hong Kong thanks to its five-story purpose built sports centre and on-campus Olympic size pool available to all students. The university joins an upmarket mall and metro service so travelling from your halls to various HK locations is quick and simple. The university hosts exchange students from universities from all over the world and runs a very successful orientation week where expats are able to network and befriend. As a student you will have access to a wealth of academic knowledge and resources as well as support for those with specific learning disabilities.
