Research
Our research tackles some of the most pressing global environmental challenges of this century, through the discovery and characterisation of materials important for society’s decarbonisation efforts, and for the energy transition to cleaner and renewable resources.
We also apply the capabilities of the Scanning Electron Microscopy Shared Research Facility (SEM SRF) to build on research that contributes to society’s resilience to engineering, environmental, and health hazards.
We welcome new research collaborations on the study of materials and processes as well as new industry partnerships.
The SEM SRF activities are captured by our team’s list of selected publications and by the case studies below.
For publications resulting from collaborations with, and/or support from the SEM SRF, all users are required to adhere to our publication policy (PDF, 189 KB), which is in line with that of other national electron microscopy centres and with the Royal Microscopy Society.
