Children’s Health Equity
The Children’s Health Equity research group generates knowledge to inform pro-equity policies to address intergenerational inequity in the UK and globally.
We are passionate about improving the wellbeing and life chances of all children through education, health, safe and supportive environments at home and in their neighbourhoods, welfare, commercial and economic factors. The team is skilled in epidemiological analysis of population level linked datasets and birth cohort studies, evaluation of policy and knowledge mobilisation. We are part of the Health Inequalities Policy Research Team and deliver many projects for the NIHR School for Public Health Research.
Our core-interdisciplinary approach is to co-produce research with young people, those with lived experience and practitioners and policy makers alike. We have a track record of influence through our work, for example, at Health Equity North and Public Health Policy Research Units and influencing internationally through our work with UNICEF and WHO.
