Professor Jon Tonge from our Department of Politics has won the Political Studies Association of Ireland’s prestigious Brian Farrell Prize for the best Politics book of 2014.

The book, entitled 'Democratic Unionist Party: From Protest to Power' (Oxford University Press), was co-authored with Dr Maire Braniff, Professor Thomas Hennessey, Professor James McAuley and Dr Sophie Whiting.  The publication was based upon a two-year Leverhulme Trust-funded membership survey of the Democratic Unionist Party in Northern Ireland. Dr Raul Gomez, now also a lecturer in our Politics Department, worked as a Research Assistant on the project.
