    About

    Personal Statement

    Research
Current research focuses on Biophysics (bio-artificial tissues and cancer studies) and Condensed Matter Physics (2D Materials, optical and electronic properties of surfaces and nanostructures). I use scanning probe microscopy (AFM, IR-SNOM, STM), optical spectroscopy (RAS), photoemission and diffraction-based techniques.

    Teaching
I run the Year 3 laboratories, where students perform experiments involving x-ray diffraction, x-ray flourescence, scanning tunnelling microscopy, quantum and wave phenomena, and a range of radiation experiments, including medical physics-based experiments. I teach Materials Physics in Year 3 - a module I designed, and give Year 3/4 tutorials on Condensed Matter Physics and Biophysics.
