About

I am an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine and senior specialty registrar in respiratory medicine. I have a special interest in respiratory imaging, physiology and intervention. I split my time between the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

My doctoral research focussed on understanding the impact of treatment for pulmonary exacerbations of, and novel highly effective combination modulator therapies for, a condition called cystic fibrosis. I have also published work on understanding exercise physiology, and the role of machine learning in respiratory imaging. I have extensive experience of scientific publication and presentation. I have been a sub-investigator on a range of university and commercial studies on both therapeutics and medical devices. I enjoy working collaboratively across subspecialties within respiratory medicine and with other disciplines such as cardiology and thoracic surgery.

My current research concerns the role of exercise and immunotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer, as well as developing new methods to assess respiratory physiology and diagnostics in chronic lung disease.

I am active in medical education and teach at the University of Liverpool School of Medicine.
