Research
Sheng’s research focuses on advanced pharmaceutical materials and manufacturing technologies to enable improved drug performance, scalable production and personalised medicine. Her work integrates molecular pharmaceutics, formulation development and additive manufacturing to address solubility-limited drugs and complex delivery challenges.
Key areas include the development of solid dispersions and amorphous formulations for bioavailability enhancement, drug-eluting medical devices, such as contact lenses, stents and catheters, and pharmaceutical 3D and 4D printing. Her research also explores additive manufacturing strategies for medicine production and device coating, enabling precise control of drug release and product customisation.
Together, these activities support the translation of innovative dosage forms and medical devices into clinically and industrially viable solutions.
