About

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Psychology Department at the University of Liverpool. I’m currently working on UKRI funded project called BeanMeals, which is about exploring the feasibility of encouraging children l to consume more bean-based meals for health and environmental sustainability.

I completed my PhD within the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (SSEHS) at Loughborough University. Here I explored the role of holiday clubs in promoting children's healthy eating behaviours. In particular, I explored the food-related interactions between the staff and children in these settings and whether these interactions were conducing to promoting children's healthy eating, such as eating with the children, encouraging children to try new foods, involving children in meal planning and cooking activities, etc.

I have been a Research Assistant/Researcher in various organisations since 2011, and have contributed to a range of internally and externally-funded research/evaluation projects from development through to completion, predominantly within the divisions of Sport and Exercise, Health, and Occupational Therapy. I have experience in applying a range of quantitative and qualitative methods and in embedding patient and public involvement (PPI) throughout the research process. I have worked with a diverse range of population groups and settings including children in primary and secondary schools, foodbank service users, adult mental health service users, and families from a range of cultural backgrounds including White British, Eastern European, South Asian and Travelling communities.
