About

Dr. Mohesh Moothanchery is a specialist in optics and biomedical imaging with extensive experience in preclinical and clinical research. He earned his PhD in Optical Engineering from Technological University Dublin (Ireland) and holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Photonics from Cochin University of Science and Technology (India). Dr. Moothanchery held research positions at leading international institutes, including the HiLASE Centre (Czech Republic), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR, Singapore)

He currently serves as the Centre Manager at the University of Liverpool’s Centre for Preclinical Imaging, where he leads and supports biomedical research using advanced imaging technologies, including photoacoustic, ultrasound, optical, PET/SPECT/CT, MRI, and other multimodal systems. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, is a co-inventor on three patents, and has co-investigated three funded research grants totaling more than £1 million. His work focuses on the translation of innovative imaging technologies into clinical and preclinical applications, and he maintains active collaborations with research groups across Europe, the United States, and Asia.
