Research

Her research opportunities are from the most prominent institutions - computational architecture at MIT, Islamic studies at Oxford, digital humanities at UCLA and nautical archaeology at Texas A&M. She has achieved several prestigious fellowships - Chevening, Hanfmann and Mellink and Fulbright, as well as grants - U.S. Department of State, MIT Global Seeds, the Turkish Academy of Sciences and Research and Scientific Council.
My research centres on three interconnected areas:
- Digital Heritage and Resilience, where I investigate how immersive environments, multisensory design, and AI can sustain cultural memory and reframe heritage as a living, evolving resource.
- Immersive and Computational Design, focusing on VR/AR/XR, multisensory modelling, and AI-assisted design workflows that expand architectural practice and teaching.
- Design Futures, where I explore biodigital design, digital fabrication, and art and design theory as secondary but important directions that link architectural innovation with cultural and creative practices.
