Medieval English literature with a particular focus on green concerns (vegetation, animals, weather) remains a core area of research.

Children's books and architecture

A new undertaking, just at its start, is a collaboration with a colleague in Architecture and another colleague (now a teacher, previously a PhD student in the departments of English and Architecture) looking into the absence of modern and in particular modernist architecture in picture books and books for readers up to age 10.
