About
I am a Senior Research Fellow within the Department of Public Health and Policy and Deputy Director for the CLEAN-Air(Africa) Global Health Research Group funded by the NIHR.
My primary research focus is to asses the potential of clean cooking intervention to reduce exposure to household air pollution (HAP) from biomass fuel use and improve health, gender equality and the environment. I am particularly interested in the design and conduct of evaluations of environmental interventions and programmes in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
I am the Principal Investigator of the Rwanda Centre of the Household Air Pollution Intervention Network (HAPIN) trial, an international multi-centre study assessing the health benefits across the lifespan of an LPG stove and fuel intervention.
Before joining the University of Liverpool, I worked in the Environmental Health Group at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where I conducted various randomised controlled trial to assess the effectiveness of household water treatment technologies in LMICs..
