About

I am a Developmental Psychologist specializing in child and adolescent mental health. My work focuses on understanding how biological, psychological, and social factors contribute to the development of psychopathology, with the goal of improving outcomes for young people and their families. I have expertise in identifying biopsychosocial risk factors and designing innovative, evidence-informed strategies to support mental health during critical developmental periods. Much of my research centres on the well-being of children, adolescents, and their caregivers, with a particular emphasis on interventions delivered in primary care and community settings. By advancing knowledge of the complex interplay between developmental processes and environmental influences, I aim to inform practical approaches that improve mental health trajectories across childhood and adolescence.

I joined the department in March 2025 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) on the M-RIC project, focussing on children’s and young people’s mental health.
Prior to this, I worked as a PDRA in the Women’s and Children’s Department at the University of Liverpool where I coordinated the PRECISE-DYAD neurodevelopment study in Kenya and The Gambia.

I completed my PhD at Vrije University Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where my research focussed on the long-term neurocognitive and mental health outcomes of children who survived neonatal conditions. I also hold a Research Master’s degree from the same University, as well as a BA (Psychology) (Hons) from Kenyatta University.
