Interactional linguistics and attitudes to stigmatised language varieties in English and Spanish. Collecting data about the Murcian Spanish accent since 1991 (with questionnaires in 1991, 2005, 2011 and online in 2023). Translation and interpreting in public service settings, particularly in health and legal contexts. Second language acquisition.
In 2023 I applied twice to the BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grants scheme. On both occasions I was informed that my project passed all quality threshold criteria and was deemed worth of funding (around £8,000) but that it was not selected through the randomisation process.
