Book launch: Melete (Bloodaxe) by Jennifer Lee Tsai

Join us for the book launch of Bluecoat Artist in Residence and current PGR student in Creative Writing, Jennifer Lee Tsai’s debut poetry collection Melete, published with Bloodaxe Books. Jennifer Lee Tsai’s first full-length collection explores family history, intergenerational trauma, love, loss and belonging through the perspective of a second-generation British Chinese identity. Melete interweaves dual cultures and heritages through narratives of memory, migration and mysticism across Liverpool, China and Hong Kong. This expansive collection establishes a powerfully distinctive lyric voice in British poetry.
Jennifer will be joined by fellow Bloodaxe and Costa-award-winning poet, Hannah Lowe. As well as reading their work, Jennifer and Hannah will be in conversation with arts curator and host Marie-Anne McQuay.
