Partner networks
Microbiome Innovation Centre
The Microbiome Innovation Centre (MIC) combines state of the art facilities with diverse expertise from across numerous disciplines including ecological, biological, clinical and veterinary science. The MIC works with industrial, clinical and academic partners, nationally and internationally. We work in collaboration to accelerate microbiome research and generate impact from discovery science.
Oxford Microbiome Network
The Oxford Microbiome Network (OMiN) aims to facilitate collaborations, knowledge sharing, and access to resources for microbiome researchers across Oxford. The network launched in May 2024 and is co-led by researchers in the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology and the Department of Biology.
Food Safety Research Network
The UK Food Safety Research Network connects food industry, food and health policymakers and academia to collaboratively pursue shared research priorities to protect us from microbial foodborne hazards.
National Biofilms Innovation Centre
The National Biofilms Innovation Centre (NBIC) is a leading Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) funded by BBSRC and Innovate UK driving breakthroughs in biofilm research and industry collaboration to deliver economic growth for the UK.
East Midlands Microbiome Research Network
The East Midlands Microbiome Research Network (EMMRN) brings together expertise from across the region to showcase world-leading microbiome-related research and coordinate collaborative opportunities. The network takes a One Heath approach to understanding the complexities of the microbiome and aims to capitalise on academic and industry expertise across human, animal, soil and plant microbiomes to facilitate multidisciplinary approaches to novel innovations.
Gut-Immune-Brain-Axis (GIBA)
The GIBA network brings together pioneering research within the Gut-Immune-Brain Axis space, providing funding, training and opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing.
