Summary
Ian is keen to engage with the wider community outside of academia, with business and the public. He provides courses on statistics, analytics in sport, and forecasting in sport, at all levels, to spread a greater understanding of statistics and analytics.
The Sports Analytics Machine (SAM) produces forecasts for every Premier League and Championship match for BBC Spot and analysis from SAM is regularly featured in the media. Some examples include: estimating the impact of individual players on football teams, the greatest international football team of all-time and plus-minus player ratings for footballers.
