Personal Statement

I graduated in Veterinary Science (Sydney) in 1991 and subsequently completed a Diploma and Masters in Clinical Studies before going on to a PhD in epidemiology. This was interspersed with periods in practice, both in Australia and the UK.

I am currently head of the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health in the Institute of Infection & Global Health and co-lead the Epidemiological Approaches Theme in the Health Protection Research Unit in Emerging and Zoonotic Infections. I am also a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Public Health.
