    Personal Statement

Hamid Rajabi is a Lecturer in Civil Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Hamid has a PhD, MSc, and BSc in civil engineering and is a professional and chartered civil engineer with more than 14 years of blended experience in industry and academia, seasoned with administrative duties. Hamid's scope of research spans a wide range of interdisciplinary topics, primarily focusing on geoenvironmental and environmental engineering. His early research involved numerical attempts to discover the engineering behaviour of particulate materials under high pressures, resulting in further follow-up studies on the small-strain behaviour of fine-grained soils. In the subsequent years, he diverted into fundamental research on functionalised nano-scale porous materials for separation and purification purposes, which ultimately developed his interdisciplinary understanding beyond his previous research routes, predominantly into environmental engineering. Hamid is interested in pursuing his research mostly in environmental engineering, to ensure a clean environment and less waste or reuse.
