Research Interests

I recently completed a Doctorate in Education which explores the personal transformation experiences of part-time doctoral students during their studies and factors that influence transformative learning. My current research focus is the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) for teaching and learning, and as GAI Lead for the University of Liverpool I have directly contributed to the Russell Group University principles of Generative AI in education, the Department of Education call for evidence in to the use of Generative AI in education, and worked with CIE staff to launch the Generative Artificial Intelligence Network (GAIN) in July 2023. I was invited to provide the Keynote speech on the opportunities and risks of GAI for the ASME North West conference in October 2023. I am currently co-authoring a book chapter with her colleagues on GAI literacy for the SEDA/Routledge book ‘Using Generative AI effectively in HE: sustainable and ethical AI for the common good’, due for publication in 2024.
