Manage your offer
Find out what happens when we receive your exam results and how to make changes to your offer.
How confirmation works
Confirmation takes place after we receive your exam results on A level results day. If you’ve accepted a conditional offer to study at Liverpool, we’ll confirm whether you’ve met the terms of your offer and whether we’re able to accept you onto your chosen course.
A level results
We'll receive your A level results on results day and confirm whether you've met the terms of your offer. We'll then update your application through UCAS.
Other qualifications
If you're studying qualifications such as the International Baccalaureate (IB) or an Access award, we'll confirm your place as soon as possible after your results are published in July, provided you've met the conditions of your offer.
What happens next?
If you meet the conditions of your offer
If Liverpool is your firm choice
If we’re your firm choice and you meet or exceed the conditions of your offer, your place will be confirmed automatically through UCAS.
If Liverpool is your insurance choice
If you’re unsuccessful at your firm choice but you meet the conditions of your offer at Liverpool, your place to study with us should be confirmed through UCAS.
If you don’t meet the conditions of your offer
Missing the conditions of your offer doesn't always mean you won't be able to study with us. Depending on your application, we may:
- Offer you a place on an alternative course, which you can accept or decline through UCAS. Any deadline to reply will be communicated to you by UCAS
- Confirm your place after considering your full application, including any contextual data or extenuating circumstances.
Apply through Clearing
If you don’t meet the conditions of your offer, you can apply through Clearing, which opens after the 30 June. You can self-release yourself into Clearing through the UCAS. Find out more about applying to the University of Liverpool through Clearing.
Appeal your results
If you're thinking about appealing your exam results, visit our appeals page for further guidance.
Haven't received a decision yet?
If we haven't been able to make a decision on A level results day, contact us for advice.
If you're an international applicant, we may still be waiting for additional results or supporting documents. Sign in and track the status of your application through UCAS to see if there's anything you need to provide. You can also email our Admissions team at ugosi@liverpool.ac.uk if you need advice.
