Students explore career paths at Local and National Futures Event

Published on

In March 2025, the University of Liverpool Management School hosted the Local and National Futures Event, an engaging and well-attended evening designed to help students on the Master in Management programme build meaningful connections with alumni, consultants and employers from across the UK.

Held in the café space of the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, the event featured a line-up of guest speakers, a candid alumni Q&A panel, and practical advice on navigating the graduate labour market from an experienced recruitment consultant.

Speakers included Reliance Wilson - Senior Project Manager at NHS, who graduated with an MSc in Finance in 2020; Paul Lloyd - Project Manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, a Master in Management graduate from the Class of 2022; and Harsh Chaudhary - Consultant at Deloitte MCS Ltd, also a Master in Management graduate from the Class of 2022. Each of them brought valuable perspectives from their respective sectors.

Alongside networking opportunities, the event was designed to offer students real-world insights into job hunting and job applications, as speakers shared their own experiences of entering the workforce, overcoming challenges, and finding their career paths.

Ilham Asgarli, Master in Management student said, "It was incredibly inspiring to hear from alumni who are now thriving in their careers. Their honest insights and advice helped me better understand what to expect after graduation. I left the event feeling more motivated and confident about my future path".

The Local and National Futures Event reflects the School’s ongoing commitment to student employability and to creating opportunities for meaningful engagement with industry professionals and our growing alumni community.
