Canberra is the capital city of Australia and the home of the Australian parliament. A planned city, Canberra become the home of parliament in 1927 and is now home to over 400,000 people. Canberra is Australia's largest inland city and sits on the banks of the man-made Lake Burley Griffin. Canberra is Australia's hidden gem, offering a wealth of fesitvals, a range of quirky bars and pubs and is as a food -lovers heaven with some of the best restaurants in Australia found in the city. Most importantly, Canberra is the most cost-effective city of any of our Australian Study Abroad destinations.
University Information
Founded in 1967 as Canberra College of Advanced Education, the University of Canberra (UC) has grown to nearly 17,000 students teaching over 300 subject areas. UC is ranked in the top 100 young universities according to the Times Higher Education Rankings. Located in beautiful parkland a short drive from the Canberra CBD, it's not uncommon to see kangaroos on campus!
