Applying online

Applications for our master's courses are made using our online application system.

To start an online application for a master's, or to continue an application you have already begun, go to the University of Liverpool Application Portal.

Our online application system will guide you through the process. Further information about how to apply can also be found on individual course pages.

Current students at the University of Liverpool who wish to apply for postgraduate taught study can do so through the Progress to Postgraduate application form on Liverpool Life.

Application deadlines

Courses starting in September 2025

Application deadlines for courses starting in September 2025:

  • OSI deadline: 25 July 2025 (extended)
  • UK deadline: 29 August 2025.

Please note, the deadline for several courses, such as those requiring ATAS approval and some of our MRes programmes, differs from above. Further information is available on individual course pages.

Due to a rise in visa refusals, non-attendance at registration, and an increase in potentially non-genuine applications from certain global regions, our Admissions and Recruitment Teams are implementing additional verification steps during the admissions process.

Please note the following:

  • Applications submitted by the standard deadline of 12 July will be considered for September 2025 entry. This allows sufficient time for verification checks to be completed.
  • Applications submitted after the applicable deadline for your region (whether the standard or extended deadline) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If the Admissions Team need additional verification checks, applications will be withdrawn as we are unable to complete the required verification in time.

If the programme you are applying to offers a January 2026 intake, your application will be assessed for that start date instead, with verification checks beginning immediately.


If a January start is not available, you may wish to apply for September 2026 entry when the application form reopens in October 2025.

  • OSI deadline: 30 November
  • UK deadline: 13 December 2025.
