    Personal Statement

    Louise works within the School of Allied Health Professions and Nursing as Vice Dean Practice Education. Louise qualified as a registered nursing (adult) in 1992, specialising in orthopaedic, spinal injuries and tissue viability nursing. Louise spent several years working in NHS hospitals, especially national specialist orthopaedic and spinal injury units. Louise has worked in higher education for over 20 years and has held a number of senior roles within this sector, she maintains a passion for teaching, curriculum development and student experience.

    She is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and is a Doctoral student whose research is exploring coopetition across Higher Education specifically related to practice learning. Louise has provided external consultancy to colleagues within industry and provided bespoke education and learning related to tissue viability. Louise is a trustee at the Sir John Brunner Foundation.

    Since joining the University of Liverpool in 2021, Louise has supported colleagues in scoping practice learning opportunities across the 6 disciplines and leading on practice learning reform, particularly within Allied Health. She supports The Dean of School and Vice Deans in the development of the educational portfolio and research activities.
