Personal Statement

The School Manager role supports the Dean of the School of Allied Health Professions and Nursing in shaping School strategy and ensuring that appropriate systems are in place to enable the School to meet its overall strategic objectives. It supports the delivery of academic and business plans through the leadership and management of a comprehensive and effective professional support service across this large and complex School.

Jan has specific responsibility in the School for:
• Strategic management of the PSS staff
• HR issues (academic and PSS)
• Quality processes
• Resource allocation, including issues relating to finance, facilities and staffing to support the effective implementation of the business plan and achievement of targets
• Financial planning and student number planning
• Refurbishment works in the School
• Student Progress
• Section One Student Assessment Appeals and Student Complaints
• External Examiner appointments
• School Data Protection Officer
• School Examinations Officer

Jan is a member of the School Senior Strategic Leadership Team and sits on all School Committees/Working Groups.

Jan provides administrative support to the Curriculum Board, and SLT meetings.

Outside of the School Jan is a member of the Institute Leadership Team, the Professional Services Senior Management Team, the University Hardship Panel, the Curriculum Manager BAU Working Group and also is a member of the University Approval Panel. Jan is also an Investigating Officer for student Discipline Cases across the University.
