Personal Statement

Georgie Eckersley qualified in 2007 as a clinical physiotherapist and her clinical career was varied prior to her specialising in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy in 2009. She has worked in community, acute and rehabilitation settings across North West England before starting an academic Teaching Fellow post in 2012. Georgie Eckersley moved to the University of Liverpool in August 2021 and is a Lecturer of Physiotherapy. She maintains her clinical competence by working clinical shifts as a physiotherapist across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Georgie Eckersley is committed to professional development and holds qualifications in leadership, teaching, healthcare governance and a Masters in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy. Georgie is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Keele and her PhD titled: 'Becoming a Civilian again' utilises a social psychological theoretical approach to transition from Armed Forces service.

Georgie Eckersley is an Armed Forces reservist and has been for over 15 years.
