Personal Statement

I am a Therapeutic Radiography and Oncology Senior Lecturer with interests in curriculum development, authentic assessment and the learning experience.
Working in Higher Education for 14 years, I have experience in a variety of programme management roles and enjoy developing pre and post registration education which meets the needs of the future oncology care workforce.
I am Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a member of the Society and College of Radiographers.
In 2023, I completed my Professional Doctorate which explored the lived experience of student therapeutic radiographers when caring for patients with cancer in the clinical placement setting: an interpretive phenomenological analysis. I have a passionate interest in emotional labour, dissonance, compassion and professional resilience in the context of cancer care and pre-registration education.
