    About

    Personal Statement

I graduated in Diagnostic Radiography from the University of Lancaster in 1997.
After qualification I worked as a clinical radiographer in several hospitals around the North West of England. I became a Superintendent Radiographer and Clinical Tutor in 2003 specialising in the clinical education of both students and qualified radiographers.
Shortly after qualifying from my first degree, I completed an MSc in Medical Imaging from the University of Lancaster followed by a further MSc in Management Development from Edge Hill University. During this time, I trained as a Reporting Radiographer gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Reporting from the University of Cumbria. In 2008, I joined the University of Liverpool as a Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography with my teaching interest being in image interpretation. In 2010, I started a Doctorate in Education which entailed a phenomenographic study on how students learn within communities of practice. I completed my ED.d in 2014 and during this time I also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education receiving a distinction in 2011. In 2016, I was awarded a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).

I have a passionate interest in student welfare and I am currently studying an MSc in the Psychology of Mental Health at the University of Wolverhampton.
