Dr Wing Man Lau joined the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Liverpool in 2026 as Reader in Pharmaceutics. She is a registered pharmacist and pharmaceutical scientist with a PhD in Pharmaceutics. Wing began her academic career at Coventry University before joining the University of Reading School of Pharmacy as a Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice. In 2017 she moved to Newcastle University, where she held leadership roles including Pharmacy Programme Director and Director of Education, providing strategic oversight of curriculum innovation and academic quality. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Wing’s research focuses on innovative drug delivery systems, with particular interests in transdermal and transmucosal platforms such as microneedles and polymeric delivery systems, and in advanced therapeutic and diagnostic technologies. Her work encompasses pulsatile and ultra-long-acting controlled release systems and precision polypharmacy delivery, all aimed at enabling safe, effective, and patient-centred care beyond traditional clinical settings.
