BANKLASH: Banks, popular backlash, and the post-crisis politics of financial regulation

‘BANKLASH’ is a major ERC-funded project studying the mutual feedback loops linking post-crisis regulation, public opinion, and the media coverage that mediates between citizens and governments in all democracies. My particular focus in the project is on computationally analysing the media framing of banks, bankers, and banking, using a large, multi-country, multi-lingual corpus of newspaper articles on banking.
