Professional activities
Rachel is a registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and has been a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society since 1998. Her practice background includes roles as a pharmacist and manager in community pharmacy, GP‑practice pharmacist, care home pharmacist and intermediate care pharmacist, where she led service development, audit and evaluation while maintaining patient‑facing clinical responsibilities. She also brings experience from medical communications, supporting pharmaceutical industry clients with educational content for advisory boards, conferences and professional learning events.
Within the School, Rachel is a core member of the senior leadership team, leading on stakeholder engagement, placements and local advisory structures for the MPharm. She chairs and coordinates the Local Advisory Group, which she has expanded to around thirty members, embedding patient representatives, NHS partners, industry, educators and professional leaders in curriculum design and delivery. Externally, she is an active member of the North West Pharmacy Education Group (NWPEG) Pharmacy Subgroup, collaborating with regional Schools of Pharmacy on placement capacity, quality assurance and workforce development initiatives that align with NHS and University strategic priorities
