I graduated with a BA in Journalism and a Minor in Political Science, followed by a Master's in Communications Management, at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona. During my BA, I completed a semester abroad at UCLA, Los Angeles. I also hold a Master's Degree in Catalan and Spanish Language Teaching from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
I began my career as a Lecturer in Catalan Studies at the University of Liverpool in 2023 and was appointed Senior Lecturer in 2026. Before joining Liverpool, I was a Teaching Associate in Catalan Language and Culture at the University of Sheffield (2019-2023), where I also taught Spanish language. I also have teaching experience at Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Birmingham.
I am interested in how mass media, social media and cultural works can help students learn a foreign language. In my classes, I combine historical and cultural content (including literature, music and cinema) with linguistic knowledge to create a richer immersion in the Catalan language. I am particularly focused on perceptions of the city of Barcelona through literary and cinematic lenses.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2024).
