About
Dr Isobel Jenkins graduated from the University of Basel, Switzerland, in 1999 and completed an MD from the University of Zürich in 2003. She moved to Liverpool to complete her GP training in 2004 and went on to work as a GP in surgeries in South Liverpool for several years.
Isobel first got involved in undergraduate medical teaching over ten years ago and decided in 2010 to leave clinical practice and focus fully on medical education. She works as a part-time Lecturer for Communication for Clinical Practice (CCP) at Liverpool School of Medicine, where she is responsible for developing and implementing communication teaching in years 3 and 5, with a particular emphasis on increasing integration of CCP with different medical specialties and within the wider curriculum. Isobel holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in higher Education.
Alongside her role in medical education, Isobel works as a singer and choral conductor and - with a particular interest in singing and health - she started up and runs a Merseyside community singing group for people suffering from chronic lung conditions.
