About

I am a researcher in clinical pharmacology working within the Centre for Experimental Therapeutics (TherEx). My research reflects TherEx’s focus on experimental and translational approaches to improve the development, evaluation, and optimal use of therapeutics for infectious diseases.

My work spans COVID-19, HIV, tuberculosis and viral haemorrhagic fevers, with a central emphasis on understanding variability in drug exposure across plasma and non-plasma compartments. I am particularly interested in how pharmacokinetic and bioanalytical evidence can be used to strengthen interpretation of clinical trial outcomes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my research focused on favipiravir, characterising plasma pharmacokinetics, metabolite profiles, and intracellular formation of the active triphosphate using complementary matrices, including peripheral blood mononuclear cells and dried blood spots.
