About

Dr. Rebecca Edge is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Liverpool specializing in improving treatments for snake envenomation. Her research focuses on the rational design of immunogens to generate high-quality, cross-neutralizing antibodies. Dr. Edge has a strong publication record in the preclinical assessment of commercial antivenoms and next-generation therapeutics, helping contribute to the WHO’s goal of halving snakebite mortality and morbidity by 2030. In 2020, she received an RSTMH small grant for early career researchers to immunophenotype leukocyte responses to snake venoms. Beyond research, Dr. Edge is an enthusiastic STEM mentor and science communicator. She regularly participates in public engagement events, including New Scientist Live in 2024, and has served as a Social Mobility Foundation mentor for the past five years.
