Alex Howard is a Consultant in Medical Microbiology at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Foundation Trust and a data science AMR researcher in Antimicrobials for Global Health.
Dr Howard qualified in Medicine and Surgery in 2011, before undertaking specialist training in clinical microbiology. He has a research interest in the application of artificial intelligence to global antimicrobial decision-making and resistance, and clinical interests in immunocompromised infection, antimicrobial resistance, and medical mycology.
