NHS funding for undergraduate students

The government offers additional financial support for students joining certain NHS courses through the NHS Learning Support Fund (LSF).

What does the funding support look like?

  • Training Grant - a non-repayable payment of £5,000 per academic year to eligible students. An additional payment of £1,000 per academic year is available for students in certain subject specialisms.
  • Parental support - additional support for eligible students who have parental responsibility for a child under the age of 15 (or under 17 if the child has special educational needs).
  • Travel and Dual Accommodation Expenses (TDAE) - receive funding towards some of your travel expenses and any temporary accommodation requirements, if applicable, when attending placements.
  • Exceptional Support Fund (ESF) - up to a further £3,000 per academic year may be available if you find yourself experiencing unforeseen financial hardship.

  • BSc (Hona) Physiotherapy

  • BSc (Hons) Therapeutic Radiography and Oncology
