Mathematical Sciences at the University of Liverpool

As well as strong links with the University's School of Veterinary Science and School of Environmental Sciences, the group's research overlaps and interacts with research in the Mathematical Biology and Financial and Actuarial Mathematics groups within the Department of Mathematical Sciences.

Specific topics of interest include:

• Optimal control theory, including applications to telecommunication networks (Dr Piunovskiy, Dr Zhang)

• Non-parametric statistics, including applications in vision science and ecological modelling (Dr Żychaluk).

• Bayesian statistical methods applied to infectious disease data and ecological data (Dr Żychaluk)
