PhD Opportunities

Our PhD projects range over a number of areas such as quantum field theory, high energy physics analysis relating to current experiments and lattice gauge theory

General Interests

PhD projects are offered on a variety of topics in Quantum Chromodynamics, the Standard Model and its extensions and lattice gauge theory reflecting, for instance, the research activities of academic staff. More specifically recent theses have centred on renormalization and high order perturbation theory, conformal field theory in d-dimensions, proton and hadron structure, quantum computing and statistical mechanics.

Details of recent and current projects are available here.

In previous years students have been funded by studentships offered by STFC, EPSRC, LIV-INNO and Leverhulme Trust for example. We have also hosted students on overseas funded studentships and continue to welcome such applications.
