I joined the Management School in 2016 and am a senior lecturer in sport business management, teaching modules relating to leadership and professional development on the Football Industries MBA, Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA and MSc Sport Business. My PhD, from the University of Sheffield, examined graduate employability in the sport industry focusing on transition into the workplace. I also have an MSc in Leadership Practice and Responsibility from Lancaster University and an MBA. I am accredited by the British Psychological Association to undertake personality and ability assessments, in particular Myers Briggs Typology Inventory (MBTI) and 16 PF.
I have published in a number of peer reviewed academic journals on graduate employability and careers, and managing change in elite sport. I am also co- author of the Routledge textbook: ‘Human Resource Management in the Sport and Leisure Industry’. Prior to entering academia I worked in sports facilities management and am still actively involved in the sport industry as a community director/board member for Burnley Leisure Trust.
