    Dr. Aikaterini Florou is a Lecturer in International Economic Law at the University of Liverpool, the School of Law and Social Justice. Aikaterini holds the position of the General Editor of the Journal of World Energy Law and Business, published by Oxford University Press. Previously, she was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at the Institute of Law and Economics of the University of Hamburg. Before joining academia, Aikaterini worked for several years as a legal and policy officer at the Energy Directorate of the European Commission advising on International energy and investment law issues, including arbitration. She has also been a consultant with the OECD, the Columbia Centre on Sustainable Investment, and a Tutor at the Hague Academy of International Law, while she has completed legal internships with the WTO team of the European Commission's Legal Service and the Government Legal Department in Greece. Her PhD dissertation, completed summa cum laude in Sciences Po Paris, has been published by Brill under the title: ‘Contractual Renegotiations and International Investment Arbitration. A Relational Contract Theory Interpretation of Investment Treaties’. Aikaterini is a member of several fora of International Investment Law and International Energy Law, including the International Law Association Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution, the Education Advisory Board of the Association of International Energy Negotiators, and the Academic Forum on Investor-State Dispute Settlement.
